Building Community

The Clef Club strives to preserve and promote jazz and its history through educational and cultural services and programs. The mission of the Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz and Performing Arts, Incorporated, is to further the level of arts and culture in the community. The Clef Club has accomplished this goal through promoting the development of talent and providing opportunities for the growth of the performing artist, specifically with a special emphasis on instrumentalists. The Clef Club provides classes and seminars to groups and individuals. It also provides concerts, master classes and informal jam sessions to expose children and adult students to trends and new formats to the music. The Clef Club seeks to serve the artist and the community through providing a forum for the listening and appreciation of the great American art form of Jazz and related disciplines.

Additionally, the Clef Club serves as a repository for the collection and preservation of the history of jazz music for further research and interpretation by scholars, educators, artists and the general public.
